1. Massage

Massage is an excellent way to reduce stress and reduce hair fall. It can be done using nourishing oils such as coconut oil or olive oil. It improves blood circulation and nourishes the scalp. It also strengthens the roots and prevents breakage.


How to Use?

  • Heat some olive oil or coconut oil or castor oil in microwave for few seconds
  • Massage it onto the hair and scalp by applying light pressure with the fingertips
  • Massage at least for 10 to 15 minutes
  • Repeat this once a week
2. Indian Gooseberry

Indian gooseberry or amla has vitamin C, whose deficiency can cause hair loss. It has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antibacterial and exfoliating properties. It promotes hair growth and clears dandruff and other scalp-related issues.


How to Use?

  • Mix one tablespoon each of Indian gooseberry or amla pulp and lemon juice
  • Massage the scalp with the mixture thoroughly
  • Cover the hair with a shower cap
  • Leave it on overnight and shampoo the hair in the morning
3. Onion Juice

Onion juice is a great remedy to treat hair loss as it contains sulfur. It improves blood circulation and reduces inflammation. It is also effective in treating scalp infection. It has been proven in a study that onion helped people with hair loss problems and showed significant hair regrowth.


How to Use?

  • Extract the juice of one onion by grating it and then strain it
  • Apply the juice directly onto the scalp
  • Leave it on for about 30 minutes
  • Rinse and shampoo as usual
  • Mix together three tablespoons of onion juice and two tablespoons of aloe vera gel
  • You can also add one tablespoon of olive oil
  • Apply this mixture onto the scalp and leave it on for at least 30 minutes
  • Rinse and wash the hair using a mild shampoo
  • Repeat either of these remedies two or three times a week for several weeks
4. Licorice Root

Licorice root is yet another effective remedy that treats hair loss and damaged hair. It has mollifying properties that opens the pores and soothes the scalp. It also helps in getting rid of the irritation and dry flakes. This is an excellent remedy for dandruff, hair loss and baldness.


How to Use?

  • Add one tablespoon of ground licorice root to one cup milk
  • Add one quarter teaspoon saffron and mix it thoroughly
  • Apply the paste on bald patches at bedtime and leave it on overnight
  • In the morning, wash the hair using mild shampoo
  • Follow this remedy once or twice a week
  • You can also take licorice internally in the form of licorice tea three times a day
5. Hibiscus

Hibiscus flower has numerous enriching properties that are good for the hair. It promotes hair growth and cures dandruff. It also helps in preventing split ends and thickens the hair. It is very effective in treating hair loss.


How to Use?

  • Add 10 Chinese Hibiscus flowers to two cups of coconut oil
  • Heat the solution until charred
  • Strain it to collect the oil
  • Apply the oil on the hair before going to bed
  • Wash the hair in the next morning
  • Repeat this a few times a week
  • You can also make tea with this flower and use it as a rinse for your hair to encourage proper growth
6. Beetroot

Beetroot juice contains carbohydrates, protein, potassium, phosphorus, calcium and vitamin B and C. It promotes healthy hair growth.

How to Use?

  • Include fresh beetroot juice in the daily diet
  • In addition to that, spinach juice, alfalfa juice, lettuce juice, or carrot juice to maintain healthy hair
  • Alternatively, grind a few beetroot leaves (boiled in water) along with henna to make a paste
  • Apply this paste on the scalp
  • Leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes before rinsing it out
  • Repeat several times a week
7. Flaxseeds

Flaxseeds are rich source of omega-3 fatty acids which is essential for healthy hair and nails growth. It prevents hair loss and encourages hair growth.


How to Use?

  • To manage hair loss, consume one tablespoon of freshly ground flaxseeds with a glass of water daily in the morning
  • You can also add flaxseeds to salads, soups, smoothies, and other dishes
  • You can also simply take flaxseed oil, or apply it onto your hair
  • When used as hair oil, flaxseed oil can help prevent hair loss as well as strengthen the hair
