How to Use?

  • Slightly warm some coconut oil and dab it on the nails using a cotton ball
  • Massage gently and thoroughly for 5-10 minutes
  • Repeat the process twice or thrice a day
  • Alternatively, you may also mix some lemon juice along with warm coconut oil
  • Soak the nails in this solution for 10 minutes before going to bed
  • It is also advisable to wear gloves as it moisturizes the nails and provide better results
Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is an excellent remedy for brittle nails as it contains many vital nutrients such as vitamins, calcium, potassium, magnesium and ion. These nutrients are essential for healthy growth of nails and also to fight nail infection.


How to Use?

  • Mix equal parts of raw and unfiltered apple cider vinegar and water in a bowl
  • Soak the nails in this solution for a few minutes
  • Gently push down the cuticles after soaking
  • Repeat this daily for few weeks until the nails grow stronger
Vitamin E

Lack of moisture is the main reason behind brittle nails. Vitamin E is important for the nails to look healthy and moisturized. It is available in the form of capsules filled with vitamin E oil which can be used to nourish the nails and cuticles.


How to Use?

  • Break open 2-3 vitamin E capsules to obtain the oil
  • Apply the oil to the nails before going to bed
  • Massage this oil onto the nails and cuticles for few minutes to improve the blood circulation
  • Repeat this process daily for a couple of weeks
  • Additionally, you may also take vitamin E capsules orally daily

Horsetail contains high amounts of silica, which is vital for strong and healthy nails. Also this can get rid of the white spots in the nails.


How to Use?

  • Add two teaspoon of dried horsetail herb in hot water
  • Allow it to steep for 10 minutes and then strain the tea
  • Let it cool down and then soak the nails in it for about 20 minutes
  • Pat dry the nails and apply olive oil on it
  • Wear gloves and leave it overnight for best results
  • Repeat this remedy twice or thrice a day until few weeks
  • Alternatively, you may also drink horsetail tea daily for added benefits
Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil has strong antifungal and antibiotic properties that treat all sorts of infections. It also helps in treating brittle nails and discolored nails.


How to Use?

  • Add few drops of tea tree oil to one-half spoon of vitamin E oil
  • Rub this solution to the nails using a cotton ball
  • Massage it thoroughly for few minutes to improve the blood circulation and leave it on for 30 minutes
  • Rinse it off with lukewarm water and pat dry
  • Finish it by applying moisturizing lotion
  • Repeat this remedy twice a day for about a month
Sea Salt

Sea salt has many essential minerals that have healing properties. These minerals are also good for weak and brittle nails. It helps in regaining the strength and luster of the nails. It softens the cuticle and adds a brilliant shine to the nails.


How to Use?

  • Mix two teaspoons of fine grain sea salt in a bowl of warm water
  • Add two drops of wheat germ oil and frankincense oil
  • Also add two drops of lemon and myrrh essential oils
  • Soak the nails in this solution for 10 to 15 minutes
  • Rinse it off with warm water
  • Pat dry and apply a good hand cream
  • Follow this remedy two or three times a week to notice results faster
