Choose a good antiperspirant
Antiperspirants are natural hygiene products that are meant for controlling excess of sweating and bad odor due to that sweat. Most of us confuse this product with deodorant but there is a lot of difference between the two, and deodorant in no way can replace antiperspirant to control sweat. Antiperspirant controls the flow of sweat and also prevents the growth of bacteria that causes that peculiar bad smell to come out of sweat. However deodorant does not affect the sweating procedure anyhow. Hence it is advised to stick to antiperspirant only, that too during night time.
Change your diet to get rid of the problem
Some reports suggest that there are certain foods that influence the smell that comes out of our sweat. You might have noticed some people sweat a lot and while other not so much at the same temperature. Also, some people smell very bad right after sweating in summer while others manage not to smell that bad. All this have a relation with what we eat. Certain food items like caffeine, onions, garlic and spices causes excessive sweating, hence if have the problem just stay away from these foods.
Turnips are a great source of vitamin C and other nutrients essential for our body. In addition to these health favoring properties, it can also kill the odor-causing bacteria due to its anti- bacterial properties. All you need to do is cut two or three turnips into small pieces and put them in a blender to make a paste. Put the paste into a sieve and press it with a spoon to extract the juice. Apply the solution thus extracted on the area you find most sweat every morning to smell fresh for the rest of the day.
Lemon juice is great for treating body odor. Lemon isalso highly acidic in nature, thus applying it lowers down the pH of our skin, which stops the odor creating bacteria to propagate. You can take out the juice of lemon by squeezing it and apply it with a cotton ball on your underarms and other parts, but a better choice is to rub. Take one half of the lemon piece instead of taking the juice out, rub it gently on the area you want relief in order to let it reach on every layer of skin. If your skin is already dry, you can dilute the juice with water and then apply. You can do this daily two times.
Baking soda is excellent absorbent, and hence soaks all the moisture from the skin. Body odor is generally caused by excess of sweat and baking soda can absorb the cause thereby reducing odor. Baking soda therefore works as natural deodorant and even kills bacteria to remove any infection. Baking soda is something that is easily available in our kitchen, and to get rid of peculiar sweat smell, you have to mix one tablespoon of baking soda in one lemon. Mix it well to fro a paste, and then apply it to your underarms and other body parts where you sweat excessively. Let it do its work for a few minutes, and then wash it off with cold water. Repeat the same for a few weeks to get things in order. Do not leave the paste for longer than 15 minutes as baking soda may cause irritation on the skin if applied for a long time.
Control your weight
Maintain a healthy weight not only to avoid excess of sweating, but also to live a happy and healthy life. Go for morning walk and take out time to work out daily from your busy schedule.
